Homemade Tandoori Chai Recipe Without Oven

Tandoori chai/tea a famous tea of pune. It has the flavour of clay pot which makes it unique in comparison to normal tea. The tea in this recipe is a regular tea which is then pour over a heated clay pot and the pot leaves its flavour on it and then what we get it tandoori chai/tea.


1 cup milk.
1/4 cup water.
2 tsp tea leaves.
2 tsp sugar.
1 inch crushed ginger.
1 crushed cardamom.
1 clay pot.


1. In a pan heat up milk and add tea leaves, crushed ginger, crushed cardamom and let it boil for 4-5 mins.
2. Take a clay pot and wash and dry it completely.
3. Heat the pot over low heat for about 5-7 mins and last 2 mins on high heat.
4. Add sugar to the tea and let it boil for another 2 mins.
5. Once pot heats up place it in a pan.
6. Strain the tea and pour it in the hot clay pot.
7. As soon as tea stops boiling in the pot serve it in kulhad.
