Schezwan Sauce
Schezwan sauce is a spicy sauce made out of dry red chillies. It’s mostly used in Chinese dishes. It’s spicy, hot and flavorful sauce.
INGREDIENTS
- 100 gms dry red chilli.
- 1/2 cup oil.
- 1/4 cup chopped garlic.
- 2 tbsp chopped Ginger.
- 2 tsp soya sauce.
- 1 tbsp sugar.
- Salt.
- 2 tbsp Vinegar.
- 2 tbsp tomato sauce.
INSTRUCTIONS TO MAKE
- In a bowl add dry red chilli and add hot water and let it soak for 30 mins.
- After 30 mins drain water and blend into paste.
- In a pan heat oil and add chopped garlic and ginger and slightly saute it.
- Add paste and cook for 5 mins.
- Add 1 cup water and mix well.
- Cover and cook for 15-20 mins stiring it occasionally.
- Add soya sauce, sugar, salt, vinegar, tomato sauce and mix well.
- Cover and cook for another 5 mins.
- Let it cool completely and store in a air tight container and use upto 1-2 weeks.
