Palak Paneer

Palak paneer it’s one of the best paneer recipe. The cottage cheese is dipped in spinach puree with all masala in it. The fresh cream makes it delicious and creamy.


  • 2 bunches of Spinach/Palak.
  • Salt.
  • 2 tbsp + 2 tsp oil.
  • 1 tbsp chopped Ginger.
  • 1 tbsp chopped Garlic.
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds.
  • 3 green chilli.
  • 2 sliced onion.
  • 1 tomato.
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder.
  • 1 tsp coriander powder.
  • 1 tsp cumin powder.
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala.
  • 200 gms Paneer.
  • 2 tbsp cream.
  • 2 tbsp Butter.



  1. In a pan boil water and add spinach/palak and let it blanch for 3-4 mins.
  2. Take it out and dip in cold water.
  3. Drain water and blend into puree.
  4. In a pan heat oil add cumin seeds, garlic, ginger and green chilli paste and saute well.
  5. Add onion and cook till it turns brown.
  6. Add tomatoes and cook till it turns mushy.
  7. Once it turns mushy switch off the flame and let the masala cool down.
  8. Blend into paste.
  9. In a pan heat butter and oil.
  10. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and saute it for 1-2 mins on low flame.
  11. Add paste and saute for 2-3 mins.
  12. Add palak/spinach puree, salt and little water to adjust consistency and mix well.
  13. Cover and cook for 4-5 mins.
  14. Add garam masala, fresh cream and mix well.
  15. Add cottage cheese/Paneer and cook for 2-3 mins more.
  16. Serve hot and garnish with fresh cream on top.
