Masala idli fry

Masala idli fry a all time great snacks recipe. It can be made out of leftover idlis and can give your idli a another taste. Quick and delicious masala idle fry.


  • 5-6 Idli.
  • 6 tbsp oil.
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds.
  • 1/4 tsp asafoetida.
  • 8-10 curry leaves.
  • 1 chopped onion.
  • 2 green chilli.
  • 1 chopped tomato.
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder.
  • Salt.
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala.
  • Juice of half lemon.
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves.


  1. In a pan heat oil and fry the Idli till it turns brown.
  2. In the same pan heat oil add mustard seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves and saute for a min.
  3. Add chopped onion and saute till it turns brown.
  4. Add green chilli and tomatoes and cook till tomatoes turns mushy.
  5. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, Garam masala, lemon juice and mix well.
  6. Add 2 tbsp water and mix well.
  7. Add coriander leaves and fried idli and mix well.
  8. Cover and cook for 2 mins on low flame and serve hot.
