Butter Chicken recipe

Creamy butter chicken recipe. It’s buttery, creamy and tastes soo delicious that everyone will love it. Tangy, spicy and flavours of chickens makes it delicious. It can be served with fried rice, naan, kulcha and parathas.

INGREDIENTS

For marination :-

  • 500 gms chicken.
  • 3 tbsp hung curd.
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste.
  • 1 tbsp kashmiri red chilli powder.
  • 1 tsp garam masala.
  • Salt.
  • Juice of half lemon.
  • 1 tbsp mustard oil.

For gravy :-

  • 4 tbsp butter.
  • 1 chopped onion.
  • 2 inch ginger.
  • 8-9 garlic.
  • 5 chopped tomato.
  • 1 black cardamom.
  • 3 green cardamom.
  • 1 inch cinnamon.
  • 3 dry red chilli.
  • 5-6 cloves.
  • 7-8 peppercorns.
  • 1 bay leaf.
  • 12-15 cashew nuts.
  • 1 tbsp kashmiri red chilli powder.
  • Salt.
  • 1 cup water.

For tempering :-

  • 1 tbsp butter.
  • 1 tbsp kashmiri red chilli powder.
  • 1 tsp coriander powder.
  • Salt.
  • 1/2 tsp sugar.
  • 1/4 cup fresh cream.
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala.
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves.
  • 1 tsp kasuri methi.

DESCRIPTION

  1. In a bowl add chicken, hung curd, ginger-garlic paste, kashmiri red chilli powder, garam masala, salt, juice of half lemon, mustard oil and mix well.
  2. Cover and refrigerate for 30 mins.
  3. In a pan heat butter and add chicken and cook for 5-6 mins.
  4. Once chicken gravy dries up saute few seconds and remove from flame.
  5. In a pan heat 1 tbsp butter and add onion and saute it slightly.
  6. Add chopped tomato, ginger, garlic, black cardamom, green cardamom, peppercorns, cloves, bay leaf, dry red chilli, cashew nuts, kashmiri red chilli powder, salt and 1 cup water and 3 tbsp butter and mix well.
  7. Cook it till tomatoes turns mushy.
  8. Once turns mushy switch off the flame and allow to cool down and remove bay leaf.
  9. Transfer the mixture in a jar and blend smooth.
  10. Strain the puree and add half cup water.
  11. In a pan heat 1 tbsp butter and add 1 tbsp kashmiri red chilli powder and mix well(do not burn).
  12. Add prepared puree and mix well.
  13. Add half cup water, salt, sugar and coriander powder and mix well.
  14. Cover and cook for 5-7 mins.
  15. Add fresh cream and mix well.
  16. Add fried chicken and mix well.
  17. Add garam masala, kasuri methi and coriander leaves and mix well.
  18. Cover and cook for 2 mins and serve hot.
